Create a new job
- “File”→”New”
- Assign a name for the job
- Import Data
- Choose “Data”→”Import Data” and browse to a roster saved as a .csv (Comma Delimited) text file.
- Match column names at the top of the Import
Data screen. The data contained in
these columns will be imported into UPI Match. Fields marked “No Matching” will be
ignored.
- Import Images
- Choose “Images”→”Select”
Directories
- Choose “Add New” and browse to a directory
of images to be added
- If there are more images to be added, you
can also choose “Add New” again and choose more images.
- Hit OK and images will be imported. Be Patient! Thumbnails of each image will be
created as the images are imported. This is a one-time process and will make browsing through the
images much faster as you match the job.
- Save the job
- Your job can be saved at any time, and now
that you have the data and images together, it’s probably a good idea to
go ahead and save it. Go to File→Save and choose a location to save the job. The job will be saved with a “.upe” extension. *NOTE: The job saves all the imported data, matching data and a
path to the image files, but not the images themselves. If you move the images from the
original location, problems will arise later.
- Your job should look something like this:
- Look at the image above and note.
- The top middle grey area tells you that
images #29 thru #36 are being displayed of 346 total images. There are four ways to browse through the
job
i.
Drag the
slider at the top of the screen
ii.
The “One”
buttons at the bottom will move one image to the right or left
iii.
The “Page”
buttons at the bottom will move forward or back one 8-image page of images.
iv.
The “Last”
buttons at the bottom jump to the first or last images in the job.
- Matching Data
- The “Bump” buttons below each image will
bump the data for that image to the next image, leaving the data for that
image blank. Below is an example
of what happens when you click on “Bump” on the second image.
- The “Delete” button deletes the data for an
image. Below is an example of what
happens when you click “Delete” on the second image. Notice the data for “Jeremy R” is now
gone.
- The “Ignore” button keeps the data
associated with an image, but flags it as being ignored so that it will
not be included in CD exports, ID Cards, or other products to be
created. Below is an example of
clicking “Ignore” on the second image. Notice that the data has not been deleted, but the red box
indicates that this image will be ignored.
- To make changes to an image’s existing data,
click on the image and a Data Modification screen will open. Modifications to data will be saved
back to the job when this screen is closed.
- The typical way to match data is to start
with the first image and “Page” forward through the job until the entire
job is matched. You will know that
the job is matched when the numbers in “Data Count” and “Image Count” at
the top left of the screen are the same.
